Why I choose to follow a low carb diet
Well it depends on you. Just like following a low calorie lifestyle takes planning, so does living low carb. I have low carb dieted on and off for the past 20 years. I’ve also tried low calories diets. I would have some success, but whenever I felt out of control, or really wanted to see some results I would start on a low carb diet.
But this time, I decided I need to stop all this yo-yo dieting. Losing weight, putting it back on, then fighting to lose it again. I’m getting to old for that mess!
Low Carb Diets Are To Restrictive……FALSE!
Some people feel a low carb diet is too restrictive. I hope to be able to show you that its not! You can make some delicious low carb, healthy meals with a little time and planning. There are sooo many great low carb cookbooks, websites, and lets face it Pintrest will soon become your best friend as you look for new, interesting meals to make.
So if you read my about page, I think you could feel how miserable I was. So I focused on making this a LIFESTYLE change and not just another 6 month diet I would go on. I was going to break the diet cycle!
There are A LOT of low carb diets on the market. I’m not following any one of them in particular. I’m currently on what some would say is the Atkins induction phase. I want to take off a little over 100 lbs. But over the years I’ve done Dukan, South Beach and Mediterranean. So I have a lot of recipe books to pull from, and this time I’m going to actually USE them!
How I Plan On Being Successful
I plan on being successful by TELLING people about my journey and SHARING my thoughts, and experiences. I also plan on SHARING the journey. I’ve formed my own meetup group and joined many online support groups.
So if you are considering starting your own weight loss journey. Whether you choose low carb or go low calorie. Whatever you choose. Don’t just say to yourself, I’m going to start this lifestyle change. Its too easy for us to break promises to ourselves. But when we TELL people, they will help hold us accountable!
Accountability
That’s not just a word. Its a motivational tool! For me, just joining the groups wasn’t enough. Like I said on my about page I met a guy selling Keto OS on the day I had really truly had ENOUGH! So I tried it, I entered into Ketosis within an hour and I was hooked! But how did that go towards my accountability?
I decided to make it IMPOSSIBLE for me to back out, quit, or say, I’ll start tomorrow. I took my 250+ self into the med spa I go to for body wraps and hair removal and pitched them Keto OS! I told them I was going to lose 100 lbs. I was going to make my body a fat burning furnace and they should offer this great product to their clients!
YEAH, imagine what they are thinking! Wooooohooo HOLD THE PHONE! Are you what customers look like after taking this supplement? I explained to her I had been on it a little over a week and I had lost almost 10 lbs. Long story short, I have another appointment with them in 2 weeks to talk about my results and the possibility of them carrying it in their THREE locations! BAM!
So know I’ve painted myself into a corner! Which for me, is the best thing. I work well under pressure! In January my loan business will be taking part in a B2B networking event. I brought 2 BOOTHS,,,no not because it takes 2 to fit me in! I know what you where thinking and shame on you! LOL
I brought 2 booths because I’ll have my assistant at my loan booth and I will be standing next to a life size BEFORE Banner of me! And the live me had better look a lot better by then! MORE MOTIVATION!
Lastly, I’m creating this site for yet more motivation. As I make the change, I hope to share this journey to a better, healthier, slimmer me with you! Feel free to leave me a message or comment on the recipes. I’ll take lots of pictures as I cook so you can follow along. I’m not up to video just yet LOL. But soon!

December 14, 2016This will be one of my 2017 goals. Actually I am thinking of cutting carbs out. Less sugar, better health. I agree. It is doable if you put your mind to it.

December 14, 2016Hi Stephanie,
Yes, its funny though where you will find hidden carbs! I started keeping a food diary so I can see where they were “sneaking in”. But I have to say, I FEEL better. My joints used to hurt all the time and tingling in my feet. Its all gone now! If you need help feel free to hit me up!

December 14, 2016I know some people that have done it and been really successful. I am Italian so I can’t even consider giving up carbs – it’s a lifestyle for me.

December 14, 2016We haven\’t stopped eat carbs completely. We have cut back and eating moderately and healthier. Portion size is important.
Liz Roberts
December 14, 2016Yes, I belong to several low carb groups and I’m always surprised when people think they can eat an “unlimited” amount of anything! Portion control is important whether you follow low carb or low cal!
Mitch
December 14, 2016Now you remind me, after breakfast! I also try to keep an eye on my carbs, I do not think carb free is necessary, but certainly a restricted amount helps!
Liz Roberts
December 14, 2016LOL! Hi Mitch! Breakfast is one of my favorite low carb meals. Bacon, Bacon, Bacon YUM lol and I’ve now become an expert no crust quiche maker!

December 14, 2016Very true! Believe me, I tried low cal and lots of exercise before turning back to low carb. For ME, it works best. But its definitely not for everyone.

December 14, 2016We have done various low carb diets in the past to find out what works for us. It is harder for me to follow while traveling than at home but it can still be done with some planning.
Chiara C
December 16, 2016Yes, it’s a bit tricky when you’re travelling but we’ve actually got an article coming up on how to travel when you’re on a low carb diet. Please stay tuned for it. = )

December 14, 2016I feel better when I cut carbs!!! I wish they didn\’t taste so good would be easy to cut them from my diet.
Chiara C
December 16, 2016There are actually low carb recipes for your favourite sin foods like doughnuts, chocolate cake and the likes. You can enjoy these things low carb now! = )

December 14, 2016I barely ate an carbs – until I switched to a low carb diet, then I just craved them 10x more… dumb brain. I am wanting to give it another try after Christmas.
Chiara C
December 16, 2016When you feel like craving for a specific carb, have some. Example, if you’re craving for snickers, don’t have the whole bar. Instead, have the bite-sized one and then that’s it. Just enough to satisfy your cravings without depriving yourself. = )

December 15, 2016These are great tips and results for a low carb diet. I actually have to try the Keto OS supplement because it sounds amazing and I could definitely use more energy. It amazes me how fast you go into ketosis. Thanks for sharing your experience and congrats on 10lb weight loss. I can’t to hear about your progress with next post.

December 15, 2016Low Carb diets are the only diets I can seem to stick to. And, they really work!
Chiara C
December 16, 2016That’s great! It’s very hard to find something that works for you. Some people do trial and error on a lot of diets before finding one that suits them. = )

Dana
December 17, 2016I am gluten-sensitive so one of the first things I cut out was carbs and it was super hard. I kept on thinking of all of the things I couldn’t eat, but I got used to it and found all of the other delicious things I could eat!
Liz Roberts
December 17, 2016HAHA Dana! Isn’t that sooo true! Last night I was out with a friend who is on a super expensive Dr supervised weight loss program, and FAILING at it! She complains bitterly about the money. I tell her all the time to try one of the many versions of low carb dieting, one is sure to fit her lifestyle. But she is so focused on what she wouldn’t be able to eat, she won’t even consider it!
