The subconscious mind is just like a massive supercomputer. The beliefs we hold are ingrained in our subconscious mind. Your subconscious beliefs tell you what food is healthy, what to eat and what not to eat. The subconscious also brings about food cravings.
Mindless Shopping
Have you ever walked into the grocery store and without thinking about it, added some of your favorite foods to your grocery cart? That’s your subconscious mind at work! You are thinking about those foods, you want those foods, and you mindlessly added those foods to your cart. Hopefully, you catch your mistake BEFORE you leave the supermarket so you can put them back! Otherwise once your back home, you will really have to battle yourself to either give away / throw away the foods you can’t eat, or take it back to the store and get your money back!
Mindless Snacking
What about you are home, watching tv and before you know it, you have eaten a full bag of chips! This happens a lot! I love nuts. I sit down in front of the t.v and snack on peanuts, which is fine on a low carb diet if it’s done in moderation! Before I knew it, I’m way past my allowed amount! What to do? Count out how much you can eat and put it in a bowl or plastic bag. But the big canister away! Savor your food!
Reprogram Your Mind
Mainstream health organizations have programmed many people to think that fats are not healthy. To control your weight permanently, you have to reprogram your mind and overcome this kind of thinking. There are meditation techniques to help you achieve this.
A few tips to keep bad foods out of your shopping cart!
- Don’t go to the store hungry
- Make a list before you go to the store
- Make your food ahead of time. Meal prep Sundays is my day to make what I will eat throughout the week. This makes sure I stick to my diet plan, have food ready even if I get back to the office late
Give yourself and your diet a few weeks! Cut out the grains from your diet, lose weight, and boost your energy. This real-life experience will help reprogram your subconscious.
